Rahul is very excited today. He has just finished watching a cricket match in which India beat England in a close finish.“India is finally a superpower in cricket now!” he exclaimed in glee.His father said, “That’s right, but all this started way back in 1983, when India beat West Indies to lift the World Cup for the first time.”Rahul’s father, a great cricket-lover like him, handed him a yellowish newspaper cutting. 

রাহুল আজ ভীষণ উত্তেজিত। তিনি সবেমাত্র একটি ক্রিকেট ম্যাচ দেখা শেষ করেছেন, যেখানে ভারত ইংল্যান্ডকে ক্লোজ ফিনিশিংয়ে পরাজিত করেছিল। ভারত এখন ক্রিকেটে সুপার পাওয়ার!' উচ্ছ্বসিত হয়ে বললেন তিনি। তার বাবা বলেছিলেন, "তা ঠিক, তবে এই সমস্ত কিছু শুরু হয়েছিল ১৯৮৩ সালে, যখন ভারত ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজকে হারিয়ে প্রথমবারের মতো বিশ্বকাপ জিতেছিল। রাহুলের বাবা, যিনি তাঁর মতোই দারুণ ক্রিকেটপ্রেমী, তাঁর হাতে একটা হলুদ রঙের খবরের কাগজের কাটিং ধরিয়ে দিলেন।
