Students initially enroll in either a B.E. or M.Sc program and, based on their CGPA at the end of the first year, can choose to add a second degree.

The most commonly opted dual degree combination is B.E. + M.Sc. (Hons). This option is favored because the M.Sc. (Hons) programs generally have lower cutoffs, allowing students to secure a spot more easily. By pursuing this path, students can earn a Bachelor of Engineering degree in their chosen engineering field along with a Master of Science degree, enhancing their academic credentials and career prospects.

BITS Pilani Admission 2024

BITS Pilani admission for 2024 is conducted through the university's entrance tests for all programs. The university organizes BITSAT in two sessions for admission to B.E., B.Pharm, and M.Sc programs. Session 1 and Session 2 tests are held in May and June respectively.

Step 1: Application Form

Step 2: Entrance Test

Candidates who have applied for admission at BITS Pilani must appear for the respective entrance test, Writing Ability Test, and personal interview as per the course on the given date.

Step 3: Merit List

BITS releases seven rounds of iteration results in the form of a merit list on the official website. For B.E., B.Pharm, and M.Sc programs, candidates can choose the “Freeze” or “Slide” option. If the candidate does not choose either option, they will be considered for all higher preferences (as given in the application form) in subsequent iterations.

For M.E. and M.Pharm programs, two separate merit lists are released: one based on GATE/GPAT scores and the other based on marks obtained in the BITS HD test. In each program, a maximum of 50% of the seats are filled through GATE/GPAT scores, and the remaining 50% by BITS HD test marks.
